Tennille Parks

Tennille Parks

Heart House has always promoted parental involvement in our after school program. Research shows that children who have parents that are active in their academics have a stronger educational foundation for the future. One parent has been actively involved with the program ever since she enrolled her two children, three years ago.

Tennille Parks works as a full time dental assistant, and is a student, as well as a single mother of two. She has found the time and energy to dedicate to the program at Heart House because it is important for her to be involved in her children’s lives on an academic and social level.

Tennille often comes into Heart House on Fridays, and without any instruction, begins cleaning the areas that she sees need attention. She is proactive and helpful, and has a wonderful rapport with the staff and the children at Heart House. Tennille is a part of Heart House and has enjoyed her involvement.

She particularly enjoyed helping Heart House with the haunted house last Halloween.  “The kids had such a great time and I think that we really scared them!” Tennille has a fun loving and light hearted attitude that she brings with her when she volunteers with the children at Heart House.
